Romans 4:3 What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
When it says Abraham believed God, in what sense is the word “believed” used? What all went into Abraham "believing." How do we know he believed?

No takers huh? A few weeks back I mentioned that believe can have a few meanings depending on where it is used. Sometimes you can have an idea and believe in it. Other times you are called a believer because not only do you have an idea that you believe in, but you act on it and prove outwardly your internal belief. Does this help? Se what I wrote in my Chapter 4 comments.
I've been thinking about it, haven't got a chance to study it yet. One of my thoughts, though, is that we know Abraham believed God because he acted on the things God told him. As far as faith, I think it is similar. We believe in God, even though we can't see him, though we do see evidence of Him everywhere. And through our faith that He exists and will do the things promised us, we make choices and decisions on how to live our lives. We can discuss this more this weekend. We will all be there...with bells on...
